Afternoon transfer to the famous Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is located in a sprawling, 800\u00ad-year\u00ad-old lava field in the heart of the Reykjanes Peninsula \u2013 a UNESCO Geopark. The spa site is on the National Geographic list of 25 wonders of the world, claiming it is a geothermal gift of nature.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Lagoon is famous for its ethereal milky-blue waters. Remaining at 39\u00b0C all year round, the waters are rich in silica and minerals. Soak in the Lagoon, slather on a silica mud mask and enjoy the complimentary drink at the swim-up bar.<\/p>\n"},{"title":"The Golden Circle Tour","content":"\n
The tour starts in Reykjavik and takes you first to \u00deingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its geological significance and its historical importance as the seat of Iceland's first parliament. Here visitors can explore the dramatic rift valley where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Next, head to the geothermal area in Haukadalur, home to the famous geysers, including Geysir and Strokkur. Strokkur, which erupts every few minutes, offers an exhilarating spectacle as it hurls boiling water up to 30 meters into the air.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The last major stop is the magnificent Gullfoss or \"Golden Waterfall\",\" where visitors can admire the mighty glacial river plunging into a deep gorge, forming an impressive double waterfall. On this day we will enjoy a drive along the south coast of Iceland. This coastal road offers views of glacier tongues, waterfalls, rugged hills, black sand beaches and the famous volcanoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We drive to the 60 m high Seljalandsfoss waterfall. You can walk behind the waterfall, but dress well as the water mist behind the waterfall can get you wet. Next, we admire the majestic Sk\u00f3gafoss waterfall. It is one of the most powerful waterfalls in the country, 60 m high and 25 m wide. Due to the amount of spray that the waterfall constantly produces, a single or double rainbow can usually be seen on sunny days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Next, we stop at the black sand beach of Reynisfjara to view the geological formation and the roaring waves. Be careful not to get too close as the waves can be dangerous. Before heading back to Reykjav\u00edk, we visit V\u00edk \u00ed M\u00fdrdal, a seaside village located in the shadow of the M\u00fdrdalsj\u00f6kull glacier that covers the Katla volcano.<\/p>\n"},{"title":"Whale Watching Tour","content":"\n
Explore the whales of Reykjav\u00edk under the excellent guidance of marine biologists and learn all about the incredible wildlife that calls Iceland home. The bay is even full of birds, from puffins and gannets to guillemots and more, actively feeding on the abundant fish in the bay. Beautiful landscapes surround the area and form a unique contrast to the vast sea, with spectacular views on the horizon not to be missed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
You board the whale watching boat via the visitor centre, where you will find several outdoor viewing platforms, a heated indoor saloon with large viewing windows, a cafeteria where you can buy light refreshments, toilets and a checkroom where you can borrow our blankets and overalls for the duration of the tour.
